What is self-storage?

Self-storage is a way to safely and securely store your belongings away from your own property. Self-storage units whether that be cold storage, shop condo, climate controlled or one of our exterior parking spaces are like apartments for your possessions. You pay, they stay. Many self-storage providers including Storage Kings also often offer onsite packing supplies, plus a host of additional features including security cameras, staffed facilities, and more.

Since those searching for self-storage often have diverse storage needs, there are also several different types of self-storage options designed to accommodate those needs. The most common type of self-storage is the Cold Self-Storage unit, which has four walls, a roof, minimum one light and one electrical outlet and an access door (enlarged garage door) and is accessible from the door that opens directly to the outside of the building. In general, many of these options have drive-up capability and are situated on a driveway with large door options, the most standard is roll-up doors. These are referenced as “cold” because these units do not have temperature regulating devices installed in the buildings so the temperature inside of these units will be subject to the temperature outside. These Cold Self-Storage units come in a wide range of sizes from extra small to extra-large, and it is best if you contact one of our storage experts to assist you in determining the size that is best suited for your needs.

Shop Condo Self Storage is designed with four walls, a roof, walk through entryway door and an access door (enlarged garage door). The Shop Condo Self Storage is designed with small business, RV/Boat and other storage needs in mind with drive-up options available. These options tend to be on the larger end of the size spectrum.

These units come with a bathroom with a toilet, sink and water heater. Also, a shop utility sink with a garden hose hookup, outlets around, floor drain, ceiling fan and well lit.

Exterior parking spaces are simply uncovered parking spaced located outdoors on the storage facility property.

Certain storage units are climate-controlled, which means they are located indoors and regulated for precise temperature and humidity. Though more expensive than Cold Self-Storage units, Climate-Controlled units are often essential for items more sensitive to fluctuations—this is especially important for belongings being stored in geographic areas with rather extreme weather conditions.
Drive-up self-storage refers to any self-storage unit type that can be driven up to with a car or truck. Drive-up units are great for those who want to minimize time at a self-storage facility. They’re also an exceptional choice for large items that are difficult to move or may not fit into storage hallways. To accommodate these items, most of our units have a drive-up self-storage option available with large roll-up doors
Storage Kings takes pride in having a wide range of sizes to meet storage needs large and small. Cold Self-Storage units come in a wide range of sizes and at most storage facilities, the least expensive (and spacious) storage units start at 5’ x 5’, while the larger and more costly units are 10’ x 30’ or larger. Here is a full list of the size options available at each of our Storage Facilities is a range in between these sizes. Some of the most commonly found storage unit sizes include 5’ x 10’, 10’ x 10’, 10’ x 15’, and 10’ x 20’. The Shop Condos are more commonly sized as ________. Uncovered parking spaces are typically the size of a standard parking space (10’ x 20’), though there are spaces reserved for RVs and other large vehicles that are bigger. In order to rent a storage space here at Storage Kings, the only form of documentation you need to provide is a form of government-issued identification. A passport or driver’s license will suffice. We are making paying for your storage units as easy as possible. With us, you can make your payment in person, over the phone, or through our online payment portal. We also give you the option to have your monthly payment deducted from your credit card or debit card. We accept checks, cash, money orders, VISA or MasterCard…….. To fit the ever-changing needs of our clients, we proudly offer flexible month-to-month leasing contracts.
Storage unit insurance is a great way to financially insure the items in your storage unit against unforeseen accidents such as storms, break-ins, infrastructure failures, or other emergencies. You can purchase storage insurance directly from our team here at Storage Kings. We offer insurance plans through ____________ Tenant Insurance program. Contact us or visit one of our locations for details. You can also buy self-storage insurance through another insurance provider. Often, self-storage insurance is included as a part of renter’s insurance.
Most self-storage providers allow you to schedule a tour of their storage unit facilities during regular business hours. Here at Storage Kings, you can schedule a tour at any one of our facilities between the hours by contacting us. We do have a comphrensive group of images of the site plans and facilities available here.
While different storage facilities offer different access hours, our facilities here at Storage Kings are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Once you have reserved your storage unit here at Storage Kings, you can move in as early or as late as you’d like.

Here at Storage Kings, we require all our tenants to give a 5-day written notice before moving out of our storage facilities. We will provide all the information on how to give out team notice during the time of signing.
